How is their temperament when not in beeeding pairs?

ive wondered about this too. hemichromis fasciatus+west africa community? i know the smaller varieties are fine with smallish fish.

Similar to Malawi imo, fairly docile with larger fish.

Currently I have a 75 gallon stocked with 2 ctenopoma acutirostre, 1 senegal bichir, 1 climbing perch and some silver dollars. Will they work?

Depends on the individuals, I have had elongatus and fasciatus act like model citizens in my 300g with larger fish, not sure the perch will handle them in the slightest, 75g could create hyper aggression especially if breeding occurs. Try it with the red jewels but keep a divider on hand.

Work well with larger fish because they can stand their own. If kept with smaller then make sure they are well fed because in my experience they can be quite aggressive. I've only had them NOT in breeding pairs fyi
