I have two jewel cichlids in my 55g they are about 3 inches and a pleco and I also just added a rainbow shark but tank still looks pretty empty anyone got any suggestions on tank mates? I've heard of people putting tiger barbs with them but also know that tiger barbs are known fin nippers. Oh and no silver dollars I don't much like them.

careful first of all. Make sure that you don't have a pair or else you will have a jewel cichlid tank I personally had a 90 with a 4inch flagtail and a 4 inch black ghost knife that were nearly killed by a 3inch breeding pair. For other fish I personally LOVE tiger barbs they can be fin nippers. Try to keep them in a bigger school should help it all depends on that fish.
I guess I might as well try some tiger barbs I just hope I can find some with some size to them I would hate for them to become jewel food.
