So, I have read the jewel cichlids can be quite aggressive fin nippers and are best kept as a mating pair. From reading, I'm not entirely confident they may get along with my other tankmates.

I have a highly aggressive dragon blood peacock, 3 fish harem of yellow labs, 3 fish harem of blue dolphins, a young red empress, a red top zebra, a bristlenose pleco, and a Raphael cat.

No one is full size yet except for the peacock.

Africans can be aggressive but from my experience they don't compare to a jewel, theses guys will fight fish twice their size and win.
I wouldn't recommend it

You should probably just use Google.. that's what anyone else is going to do. Stop being lazy... Aquatank Aquatank

Except for people that have actually kept jewels, they probably don't need to use google, judgmental as ever I see. This forum is for gaining knowledge too, you're really adding to the conversation with that comment.

OP there are some varieties of Jewels that are significantly less aggressive than your regular jewel. I kept mine in a community setting for a really long time with fish similar to yours.

I have 2 Female Red African Jewel Cichlids with 3 Bristlenose catfish and there was only fights when I first put in the second Red Jewel. They were previously housed with Jacks, Corydoras, Convicts and A BGK (I was given the Jewels) and the only fish they picked on were the corys.
