I just witnessed my jewels spawn in my tank. Female laid on top of a cracked pot. I also have few other fishes in there but I was wondering if I could leave the eggs in there for a day or two without losing them. I have a jack dempsey thats about twice the jewels' sizes, pair of convicts 2.5inchers, another jack dempsey about 2inch, and few community tank fishes that were moved to this tank because they have no home lol(not expecting to keep them alive:( )
here are some pics.

maybe worry about the convict pair if they're in the middle of breeding also, however the jack could be a problem but I really have never kept jewels so I dunno how protective the parents are, and in a 55 I would think the fry stand a good chance with your stocking

Jewels are similar to convicts small but tough as nails. They become especially aggressive when breeding so I would not worry about the eggs, but once they hatch I suggest culling some for growouts. They normally won't survive in the tank they hatch in especially with the fish you listed above acting as opportunity predators.
