Jewel Cichlids

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They're eggs layers... I've had them spawn in more than one tank where I never saw the eggs... little fish learn to hide their nests well...

The fry hatch as wrigglers, and aren't really big enough to see for a few days. After about 5 - 7 days, they look like fish.

They are fun to watch. Congratulations on the new fish. What do you plan on doing with the fry? What kind of jewels? Pics?

Errrm I'm quite new to this so didn't realise there were types of Jewels.

Here are some pictures of the pair and if you can make out the fry (they're tiny still) then cool lol!

Sorry about the poor quality... I never seem to be able to photograph fish well! lol

It looks as if they have a beautiful set up. They look to be Hemichromis guttatus.

Good luck with the fry! The larger fish does look like an Aulonocara baenschi.
