I have a male jewel cichlid that is turning a brownish color. A few weeks ago the pair did breed. I removed the female because of her aggression towards the other fish and have moved the fry to a seperate tank of their own. There are 3 fry that i could not catch that are living with the male. He has been the bright red color they turn since the eggs were laid. He doesnt look like he is turning back to the original tan type color when purchased but more towards a dark brown color. The other fish in the tank are normal colored and act healthy.
