jewels and nics

how big do jewel cichlids and nicaraguanese get? and can they be kept together and with a jd
 
male nics get 8-10", and standard jewels get 3-4". Both make decent tankmates for dempseys if the tank has enough space
 
of the 30 jewels i have been keeping 6 of them are nearly 4.5" now
 
not a good mix at all. Jewels are vicious and nics are peaceful. Mixing africans and americans is usually never a good idea either. When the jewels start breeding they will be real bad. Jewels would probably make better tank mates for jack dempseys than nics but it all depends on the tank size.
 
who said anything about africans? jewels arent african neither are nics. neither are dempseys ..... am i misinformed?....or is he just dead wrong?

one more thing. i only want one jewel so it cant start breeding unless it evolves into an asexual self inseminator.

I had one jewel and it was still a mean bastard. Please learn about your fish before purchasing them
