Jimmy Cliff

The wife and I went to see Jimmy Cliff at the Oregon Zoo last night - it was awesome to see one of the true Legends of Reggae. "Vietnam" is now "Afghanistan" and Mrs. Brown get an e-mail rather than a letter telling her about her dead son, but other than that it was like getting in a Reggae time-machine.

If you have never seen "The Harder They Come" I would highly recommend it, for the soundtrack, if nothing else.

Any other Jimmy Cliff fans out there?

It was, but they had the "Flooded Amazon" exhibit blocked off with equipment.

Yeah, they have had some pretty cool concerts there. You can get right up to the stage, which is cool. A few years ago we went to see David 'Dawg" Grisman and my wife went up and put her arm around Dawg and started talking to him. He didn't seem to mind one bit, but security was less than thrilled with her.

I went to school with him!
