Hello my name is Jimmy, I am 25 years old and from Michigan. I have kept fish on and off while I was growing up living with my parents and then stopped for several years while I went to college. I have now graduated and have my own house and have begun my journey back into the hobby.

I am attracted to fish keeping for many reasons but 2 of the biggest ones that would also help you understand my personality better would be that I am interested in the evolutionary biology aspect of each species. You can get a sense of this from the fish that I keep they all have an interesting evolutionary thing about them whether its the spikes on Striped Raphael Catfish or the scales of my Polypterus senegalus which have been researched for use in body armor source: ( http://www.newscientist.com/article...r-to-scale-up-by-mimicking-flexible-fish.html ) or their primitive lungs that allow them to survive outside of the water if still kept moist.

The other big reason would be that the college I went to was an art school and after what I've seen and learned I find much more beauty in nature and I now have the skills to know what I'm doing with pro gear and lenses so I can video record and photograph the beauty that I see.

The photography is how I found this forum, I saw a picture somewhere of an amazing fish and the url was there.

Right now I have a 75 gallon freshwater tank with a:

Polypterus senegalus
Blue Lobster
Striped Raphael Catfish
Pictus Catfish
all live plants
driftwood
black sand

I am currently setting aside money every payday to setup a saltwater tank.

I am interested in oddballs both fresh and salt so please let me know of something you think I might be interested in.

I am looking forward to learning from everyone here.

if your down here thank you if read all this I know it was a longer intro.
