lol! o snap...iv been into flowerhorns for a while, and i never knew the difference.
can you explain it to me?
cuz i dont get the whole JK/flame/golden trimarcu/faded zz
and yea he is a faded zz.
he was bred from a large ZZmaulu type male and a fader female who i have now

jk's do not generally have the dark red/orange part extending the length of the body. also JK's do not show a "faded" flowerline as yours clearly shows. in my eyes to consider a JK type fish a real JK it has to have exceptional vibrant color of red/orange and yellow. no "faded" flowerline or plums and not a bubble kok.
as far as i know the golden trimacu also doesn't exhibit the "faded" flowerline either. also the colors are generally duller then the JK. so lower grade fish not worthy to be called a JK are often called golden trimacu. don't quote me on this i could be wrong, this is just how i understand it.
i really do not know the difference between faded zz's and flame's. other then possibly the flame is a faded GM or kamalau based fish type.
