Job Description
Pond Doctors, LLC is looking for two motivated, hard-working employees to help us expand our business. If this is an area of interest to you, we are excellent employers. We need employees who can manage and/or Learn the following jobs:· Inspect Ponds to make sure it’s a healthy Ecosystem for the fish and plants.· Provide consultations and guide clients towards a healthy beautiful pond. Our business strives to have employees with extensive medical knowledge/education, experience, and training that allows us to provide valuable and thorough planning for well-constructed, healthy water gardens for long-term animal life and the clients’ enjoyment. Services that we would be asking of you are:· Cleaning of Ponds· Maintenance of Ponds· Design of Ponds in the Aquascape Pond Design style (which we can teach you and send you through their online seminars).· You will also learn about Aquascape Pondless Waterfall / Water Feature / Fountain Installation / Design / Construction. We will ask that you do:· Sophisticated Water Testing with our equipment (we will train you first)· Treatment of Green Water and adding the Water Treatments / Conditioners / and Medicine (over the counter) needed to keep the ponds healthy and beautiful. We will ask that you have:· A general idea about Pond Ecology and Ecosystem Building so that you can assist our clients in Stocking Ponds with healthy Fish / Plants that will live together. We will teach you:· About the Filtration system setup we sell as well as teaching you how to properly maintain this system. A successful candidate will:· Have a desire to pursue a career in fish, aquatic animal’s husbandry, ponds, aquariums, aquatic animal health management, fisheries management, biology, and public zoos.· Be able to lift 50 pounds or more· Be comfortable working in environmental extremes (very warm or cold), muddy, and wet· Be able to stand for long periods of time· Maintain a positive, team-oriented work demeanor with company owner, supervisor, other “Pondologists” as well as clients· Ability to follow verbal and written directions accurately and promptly· Exhibit ability to diagnose and solve problems and follow through with completion of tasks· Maintain excellent written and verbal communication with co-workers, supervisor, and company owner· Maintain accurate daily invoices· Display attention to detail while providing the best care possible to collection of animals as well as sparkling ponds for our clients to enjoy· Transfer and handle a variety of aquatic species (fish, invertebrates) through the use of tools, training techniques, and miscellaneous equipment required in various workplace scenarios Qualified candidates will ideally have a minimum of 1 year’s experience working with animals. Experience in the care and maintenance of freshwater and saltwater fish, and aquatic invertebrates. Similar experience in aquatic husbandry will be considered. Knowledge and working experience with a variety of life support systems is preferred. If you speak Spanish, that will be a plus but not required. This is a full-time hourly position you will be driving a company vehicle so a clean driving record and over the age of 22 are pluses also.
