Good story and not only would buying American made home building materials create more jobs,it could more than likely make existing jobs in those areas more secure. Thanks for sharing that link.

your welcome..

going to get that list to a few builder friends of mine

You know that is awsome. So proud Buy american and isolate your allies. Block off the pipline with your greatest allies so they will sell to China. Being an American in Canada it's like looking into a fish bowl. Your putting an arowanna in a 2 gal tank. At some point of time something has to give. So the states will do everything so backas%wards You buy American You don't buy our junk we won't buy yours. While your at it keep buying oil from over seas while Canada sells theirs to China.

Very interesting Liz. Buying American made is extremely difficult. Went to Toys R us to do Christmas shopping for grandkids. Lady walked up and asked if she could help me find anything. When I said toys made in America she laughed at me and said good luck, needless to say they got no business from me. Sadly these are the same people who complain about the lack of jobs in America.
@ Wareagle, where in the story about the pipeline does it say Canada wants to run a pipeline to sell cheap oil to US?

Sounds a little extreme to me....No one said not to buy products that are made elsewhere but I don't see a problem in doing business with local companies when you can find them.So you are an American living in Canada, are you aware at all of the employment situation in your homeland?...That is what this thread is all about.

Good luck with that...

There is a reason why consumer goods are not made in America any more other than specialty stuff for causes like this(seen it for 20+ years, never will work or catch on)...Supposed increase in quality does NOT justify the HUGE increase in cost. If America wants to compete in low end consumer goods, then labor costs MUST come down. Question is why...bring in back low end manufacturing to US will not solve American economic problems, most of which are caused by over spending.
