what are some good careers that dont take for ever to get into, ive only takin a few college classes but im very into learning new things and at 32 years old im more focused,or desperate ,i dont know, something in health ,animals, lots of interests, like helping ppl, dont mind a year or so of school but i need to get on the ball,i make around 35,000 a year and would like to bump things up,not materialistic much but want to start traveling more and so forth.Anyway any advice out there.

by the way, homes in cali or at least bakersfield whent from like 100,000 to 300,000 bucks in just a few years,my wages could have bought a killer pad back several years ago, sorry go ahead.

Anything in the health industry is in demand. All sorts of things you could do in 1-2 years.

My advice? Don't sacrifice something you'd really love to do for something that's quicker in schooling. That's cool if there's something you want to do that takes limited college. But don't go for something just because it's quick.

I hear you on the housing stuff. Real estate around here is stupid. But housing market/real estate is a bust right now in most places.

Something in geriatric nursing, though need help as we have a growing aging population. Welder, any technical school could maybe work for airplane manufactureres.

Welding is another good one. But the fumes have been known to cause cancer. At least esab welding wire warns against it.

IMO when thinking of a career ask yourself if that job could be outsourced by a u.s. company to another country for cheaper work. Because if it can.. chances are eventually it could be..

I agree with getting into health care. you have a ton of options. I got into biomed and I am glad that I did. You should check it out.

our summers are in the hundred degree mark and up here in bako, welding might take its toll, health field sounds great, biomed huh,Ill look it up,Iv done comercial electrical here and all other construction,it just gets too dang hot and too dang cold here.I love the work but not every dang day, lots of respect for it though, still try to do side jobs and all, toughens you up,fells good, but i am involved in alot of other phisical activities and dont want to be beat down every day after work, the health field sounds good to me,keeps my interest. If i was 18 again I would do the electrical deal,iv got friends makin like 30-35 an hour doin it but they started younger and now are formans and such.thanks guys,i cant be the only one here that likes this info so feel free to keep this thread going,if not, thanks again.:)

I would say do roofing. Like specialised roofing copper roofs and such. Though 100 degree temps WILL kill you no doubt about it. The roof is 130-140 degrees on a day like that with the sun beating on you. It's VERY VERY hardwork but the paycheck is worth it time and time again. Plus if you get into Copper roofing OHHH BOYY we are talking some MAJOR figures here. Why not go for enviromental science. that is a great paying career if you get your proper education and become part of successful organizations and studies. There are plenty of jobs for your average person you just got to look for some time and there are some good jobs.
