I did a search and did not find anything about this, forgive me if I missed a post. Is it possible to join 2 rectangular acrylic tanks to make one long tank? By cutting a hole in the sides and bonding the acrylic? Or maybe a flange type assembly? Thanks

something like this?

it depends on how big the fish are, if they dont need a big tube you could justn ark the tube in between the tanks. itll work like a syphon, i think it would be cool seeing your fish going up a buch of big arked tubes.

Certianly it's possible... With a Set up that long however you would be best to simply cut out a hole in the end plates and make sure that you leave enough of the top portion in place to help brace your tank from bowing out on you.

Thats one of the joys of plexi tanks ;) you can cut them when needed LOL in theory you could do that all the way around the room if you wanted and each section would have it's own built in bracing ...

i tink what he is trying to doing is take side planel off ad connect that way :) not sure how thought.. :(

I am trying to do what baslover34 suggests. I was not planning to cut out the entire endpanel. I wanted to cut out a rectangle (or square) leaving about 1 - 1.5 inches all around. Something that would give me a large surface area to glue. I was not planning to cut any of the top bracing.

If the two tanks are acrylic and they butt together flush then sure you can. Just use some Weld On #3 or #4, strap the tanks together and stand them upright, then using a syringe inject the weld on into the seam until it has completely covering the mating surfaces. Of course, cut the holes before you bond them.
