Joy and Pain of Dat keeping

One day all is well and the fish are looking their best

...and the next day I come home to find this.

My smallest and favorite dat in my stable sustained some kind of injury to it's eye that likely won't heal or ever be the same as it was.

Yeah I know what you mean. Had a Dat and experienced the same thing.

I feel bad for the little guy.

K krichardson Very sorry for your dat. He may still grow and thrive.

From experience, dats are very prone to eye damage from bad water conditions. Please check your water. Also the temperature.

I assumed it was an injury from fighting or being chased by one of the others but I will check the water after I get home.

It could be from an injury. But I just think I have seen eyes like this too often. And it might improve slowly over time.

Definitely post the result of your water when you get home, even if it is perfect.

So frustrating, sorry! Cloudy eyes on dats are so widespread...
