I found this site, I want to know if these particular fish are worth the money and why. Break it down for me.

David@aquaticwonderland has been around for a while, and is a stand up guy. Don't get the special order or competition grades, because the pics are older than anything. Competition grades IMO aren't worth it at all.

He does have some nice pieces in stock time to time for a good price. Keep your eyes out for what you like. I have ordered 4fish from David, and all four came sick, but others have had better experiences.

I can help you.. I can help on what to look for. But you have to tell us what you want in the fish. What is it we're looking for? Are you looking for a head? Are you looking for colors? What's more important to you? The fishes balance differently in those.

What fish you like on there? I know it has to be worth the price too. So post up what you like and I'll give my opinion. Not that Im an expert or anything, but you mentioned the A.D.

Ya David has a great rep, some have had issue but I think thats the exception not the rule. He has various sources so he has a nice variety but when it comes to a fish its about the features that are important to you. Some will only buy double flowers, some wont touch them other will cut off they right arm for fish with a massive KOK others wont touch it.

Generally this is what your going to pay $$$ for
1) KOKsters
2) Pearling over the entire head
3) Thick pearling over body with vibrant coloring
4) Nice tight body with a short face
5) Wrapped Fins

If a fish has all the above its going to be top dollar missing one of the above then price will go down and so on. Look at fish find what you like and buy for what you like not what your going to get comments on.

I will try and provide you guys some info on what I like. I love pearls, finnage, short face and color. Double row's are a plus. I like humps depending on the shape.

JP's "Sir Skittish(Avatar)" has a good hump also, as does Au Dong's "Strwberry Bannana"(Roster).


This is a flowerhorn I love with the exception of the shape of the hump. Colors that are not normally scene togetherm beautiful fins and a decent hump.

Besides hump and colors, you gotta start looking at their fins. That's very important to me when it comes to picking fishes. It can look super crazy in colors and hump. But if fins arent nice to me than It's a pass. The one that you like with the pearls and colrs that you like, it has very ugly finnage in my eyes. Especially the tail. It looks weak and thin and will bunch up and look droop later. Body is too skinny and long. The colors and pearls arent that unusual.. That's my opinion.
