Jr General F1 umbee progress

I bought this F1 umbee from Ira at the wish list on 1-11-2011.

This guy was spawned from freshwaterpredators spectacular wild pair.

The General is the father of this fish.

1st photo was taken when he came home on 1-11-2011 and the 2nd was taken today 2-11-2011.

He has grown from 2 inches to 3.5 inches already.

The red eyes are cool.

He's looking sweet bro:) nice spangling and he's even got a lil forehead goin;) great job with him. 1.5" growth in a month is some good stuff, cant wait to see him in a couple more months:)
 
I also can't wait to see in a couple more months how he's looking.

From the looks of him I think hes definitly a he and not a she like all my past umbees.

I just can't picture a female at this size having that much blue spangling with orange on the gill plates.
 
I would say its a male too. but i have seen some females with a god amount of spangling and red in the face. after growing my lil ones out the males were easier to sex at the smaller sizes for me by body profile size with the combo of the freckles and coloration. also i could see them change colors and patterns during faceoffs that helped me out to tell the difference;) but definitely good luck with this guy, before you know it you'll be complaining about the food bill lol:)

Speaking of 1 of your own...Here is how 1 of your male F1 dovii's are looking like these days. Just took these photos. I picked this guy up 2 weeks ago.

This is my insurance in case Jr general is female. If Jr General turns out to be female I will attempt to cross breed with your dovii to create DUMBEES.

Imagine the genetics of your phenominal wild Dovii pair spliced with the genetics of freshwaterpredators phenominal wild umbee pair.

Nice bro how big is the dovii? I bought 2 of Flowerpowers as well and were supposed be 2 females and they both looked like it but one was too small to be sure and it ended up a male:) he is 3.5" now i got mine a couple weeks ago too, here is a lil video

Very nice Jr General. Amazing growth.

I saw one of the General's kids at Ira's the other day. Looked like a male. Amazing freckling and showing signs of the "beast within" already. Wished I had the space to house him.
