I'm not sure which forum to post this......about a month ago one of my two Julii turned white, still kept the spots, I thought it was sick, but it's stayed quite healthy and seems fine. They were littler when I got them, they haven't grown much, but they don't get very big. I don't get it, could it be a sex thing or what? Ha Ha that last question sure left it wide open for remarks! Oh Gads! so did the next sentence. I'm gonna shutup now.;)

If anyone has any ideas, please share!
Thanks-Mei

Really?? No one knows???? Now it's sitting on the bubbles. I think it's sick. It stays near 02,and is still white. This is weird. It just rolls it's eyes at me.:nilly:

A symptom of neon tetra disease is that fish might turn white and then eventually die. It may be a symptom of other diseases but I'm not sure. I'm also not sure how long they might stay white before they die, I think it's usually pretty quick so I don't know if yours may have anything like that.

Have any fish died or disappeared in your tank lately that the cories may have nibbled on or ate?

I have never had cories b4 these 2. They are the smallest thing in the tank, so no, they couldn't have eaten anyone. They eat bloodworms and flakes. The one turned white a month ago, quit eating and isolated itself. Now, still white, it sit on the bubble wand (o2 need) but otherwise eats and acts pretty normal. I have a new Fluval 405 and am waiting for a uv filter. I don't know if you read my thread in the "lessons learned" forum, about the unseen dangers lurking in our tanks, but this makes me assume my tank or fish at least carry The Edwardsiella Tarda in their GI tracts, they can also get sick. I have removed charcoal and dosed with Melafix, increased heat and added salt. It still sits there white. So, it has survived for so long, I have prior to this NEVER had any sick fish, knock on wood.

Once my uv is here, I can get rid of that potential illness. Until then, I don't have a clue what to do.

Thanks very much for the response!
Mei
