Ok so i wanted him for a while and i finally got one yesterday. Problem is i have another juli in the tank( simailar, not same species) . He has been chasing the regani around and i went to feed them today and the regani is swimming upside down in the tank. I put food in and he is eating the food, he is doing everything a normal fish would do just upside down and towards the top. There arent any signs of physical damage to his body or parasites. What could be wrong with him?

I have not kept any julies yet, but I doubt if it's something unique to them. I'm gonna assume that when you aren't looking...:nutkick: is happening and your new fish has damage done internally. I've lost/killed/whatever a good thousand or more fish, and your description is not a good one. Obviously, keeping your new fish in a stressful environment is not going to help the chance of survival. I'm usually a big hypocrit on the subject of having a hospital/quarantine tank (right now I have a few empties that qualify ;) ), but you might have repeated one of my stupid mistakes. IF your new juli had some dormant disease that was triggered by the stress, then you just infected the other inhabitant(s). Unlikely though, but quarantining is often a really good thing. If you don't have a quarantine/hospital tank, I'd try to set up something to give the fish a chance.
