We'll I have read that chocolate cichlids are known to jump out of the water to catch insects. While feeding some frozen food I had let slightly thaw today, I was teasing a Severum by letting the juice drip into the tank as I squeezed the food out of the plastic. Much to my surprise, the chocolate jumped out of the water after the food. I pulled away from the surface some. On his 3rd try, he came all the way out and snatched the food from my hand. Now this is why I keep fish. Always something new to see an learn. I have only had this fish for about a month. He is 3.5 inches.

Cool! You need to post a vid of this

Very cool, my 4-5 inch group of chocolates usually jump before the pellets hit the water
