I am building a 8' x 4' x 16 1/2" (outside dimensions, for inside dimensions subtract 1 1/2" from length and width), indoor pond. I plan on a water depth of 14". What I would like to ask those with experience with adult Bichirs is how tall should I make "splash / jump guard" that I plan to surround the pond with. In the aquarium my adults are in at the moment I keep the water level at 16" and have a glass top on it. The tanks over all height is 24" so there is an air space of 8" and when they are feeling frisky it is no problem for them to hit the glass cover. I am thinking that a 24" tall guard surrounding the pond should jeep them in. What do you think?
