My silver has not eaten in about a week...

About 3 weeks ago my 15" silver jumped out of the tank in the middle of the night. I eventually woke up bc of the ruckus and put him back in the tank. I guess he was out about 5 - 10 minutes, not sure.

After about 10 minutes back in the tank, he was doing a tail stand in the corner. I thought for sure he was a goner, gave him a nudge though, he started swimming as ususal, and has never stopped since. He would not eat for about a week, and then he started eating floating shrimp pellets. One or two the first day, a few more the next, a few more the next etc... After about a week he was eating as much as he ate before he jumped. Everything but feeders, which he loved before jumping. Everytime I have put them in there since the jump, he looks at the and shows no interest.

About 5 days ago, he stopped eating again altogether. I tried fd kirill, shrimp pellets, frozen shrinp and feeders. He shows no interest. He devoured these very aggressively before jumping.

I haven't had the water tested, but I clean and maintain the tank religiously. I am confident the water is ok. Just did another change Saturday.

The only addition to the tank was a shovelnose cat, but I have never seen them messing with each other.

Any suggestions?

maybe he's just still freaked by the whole jumping incident...temporarily traumatized.

give him time to settle back in....

I agree, he's severely traumatized. Try crickets. Try Melafix. Keep him calm, in his preferred lighting, you may even black out one end of the tank for a bit while he grows moree confident and recovers. I'd be getting worried after a week, but once my aro pulled some stunt and didn't eat, crickets brought him out of it.

I strongly reccommend you pop for a master chem test kitjust cause you're always gonna need it.
