well my aro tried to die this morning some time. i got up for work, showered, ate, and then i finally went to turn on the tank lights. but where is the aro. after a few seconds i found him behind the stand almost completely dried out. ...i thought he was for sure dead. there was not even any water on the floor, he just layed there. i hurried and picked him up and felt no movement but thought what the heck i stuck him in the water and did the ol' push and pull revival trick. WOOOHOOO IT WORKED. he started breathing and drifting with the current. i had to watch him for awhile to make sure he would not flip over. well that all happened between 5:30am and 6:00am this morning and it is now 6:41pm, he is still swimming but very slowly.

he does have real cloudy looking eyes though. could it be from drying out so much or are they damaged from maybe flopping on the floor. has anyone seen this before and i was wondering if they will clear up. heck i dont even know if he can see. i am hoping he pulls through with a full recovery but at the same time i dont know how long he was laying on the floor for.

later, dave

I hope he pulls through. I had a bala shark jump and I found him on the floor, i dusted him off and put him back in...he was dead in the morning.

good save there bro, i hop he pulls thru though. raise temp, add salt or stresscoat and no feeding for a while. hope he will recover. my prayers is with u!

Agreed... plus lower the water level and increase air... should help

now you know... keep that cover on ther TIGHT!
hope he makes it.

well good news he is still alive and looks about to be his self. still a little cloudy in the eyes but i know he can see and they are clearing up. yep, i put a little weight on the lid. the lid usually is pretty tight but who knows maybe i was too relaxed when i closed it or something. thanks for the replies. i am really surprised he made it through, man he looked dead when i picked him up. it has been 3 days so i pretty much know he is going to be all good.

tight lids to all,
dave

Glad he made it. I just replaced my aro with a new one today.
