I just woke up to a huge crash scared ****less. I looked over and my 10 inch silver keeps jumping up and bashing into the hood (harder than usual) . I dont want him to get all cut up or beat up so what can i do to keep him from jumping? He is in a 125 with a small reticula ray.

Wait til he is 22 inches and does that like mine. It will wake you up from sleep. He is in the stage now where he is frightened at night. Leave a night light on for him and move slowly near the tank. Mine even jumped when I turned off an air pump and it frightened him. Your fish can easily get DE at this size. Don't let him bash his head too much. Good luck. Oh yeah, mine liked to have some plants floating on the top of the tank. They have to feel safe and secure. Think about getting a bigger tank down the road.
i plan on donating him to the zoo or finding a nice home for him. Id loveeeeee to keep him but i cannot get a 240 down my spiral staircase. The biggest i could do is a 180.
