My Motoro seems very happy and healthy he has put on a good big of weight since I got him and he is very active. He spends a lot of his time suctioned to the side of the tank and swims up and down the bubble curtain a lot. I am becoming a little concerned because he has a new habit of going to the top of the tank and bumping the lids. I am starting to wonder if this is his way of saying "feed me bit**” because when I go and feed him he stops. My roommate says he does this a lot during the day when I am gone. Is this a sign of a problem? Can he hurt himself doing it?

rays love bubbles. and also rays do tend to climb the side of the glass and come out of the water a bit, its like a characteristic. might be doing it because hes hungry. just keep feeding. can you overfeed rays?

Mine does it to, one day I was doing a water change and the tank was half empty and he swam fast up the side and got at least 6in out of the water. Normally he stops right before the surface though and slides back down so he can do it again.

i only got my first ray yesterday.. so i cant tell ya.. but i love em now.. kinda like an addiction:D

mine jumps all night.

my ray loves bubbles and climbing. he loves to let the bubbles collect under himself then "burp" a huge bubble out, its the funniest $H!t.

with jumping rays, just make sure he cant jump out. so be sure to have a secure lid...

p.s. healthy rays are always hungry!

My rays climb the glass alot also, just keep the lids on and you'll be fine. They constantly look for food, but do stop for a little bit after feeding. I guess they stop to digest a little but soon they start looking again. I don't think you can over feed them but i am not positive about that mine eat so much then stop and bury themselves leaving some uneaten which i scoop out.
