Okay I've recently got this 50 gal tank for $10. Great deal cycled it and put in my Jewel pairs, pleco, and gourami. One day Male Jewel is gone, What The Hell!. Okay so I looked around and saw nothing. So I looked under the stand..Lo and Behold, dried up Mr. Jewel (He was my very first Cichlid). That sucks.

I bought a pair of breeding Green Terror yesterday, this morning what the HELL, where's Mr. GT? Looked in the back nothing, OH CRAP not again, so I checked under the stand.....Mr. GT, dried up. What is up with this Male Jumping. I know I need a lid but hopefully more explanations then just that. Thanx

Hmmm, thats why the guy sold it for so cheap, It's a Curse, all the male fishes from this tank jumps to their death.

Note: Crazy, but for reals, while typing this my window just slammed, creepy

you know what the problem is already.

No actually No. My 120 for a year now has no lid, and none of my fishes ever have tried to jump out (not even when Im netting them). Besides just getting a lid will not help me in understanding perhaps WHY they are jumping.

Jewel was 5" had him for 2 years and he's seen 4 different tanks "no prior jumping". Why didn't the female 3" jump?

GT was 5" just got him from a crowded 15 gal tank. Why didn't the female 3" GT jump as well?

I was gonna put my 7" hefty Golden Monkey in their before but Im glad I didnt, I don't know if he can even jump that high.

The only explanation is get a lid
