How long do you leave the treated water in the tank with their meds. Right now I am treating my 55 b/c I have one silver dollar with suspected septicemia, and my gold saum has started swimming with his fins clamped. They had been perfectly fine up until a couple days ago. I pulled the carbon filter pads out of the HOB but am curious when they need to be replaced and the water changed. I may have jumped the gun, but I'd rather be safe then sorry.

This the "fungus clear" tabs? If so itis a good mix of meds but not as strong as some. Among other things it contains acriflavine, furazolidone, and nitrofurazone, all of which are generally effective on bacterial hemmoragic septicemia. You should dose at least twice, maybe 3 times, 1 tab per 50g. Wait 4 days between each treatment and do a 25-30% water change before the second dose and again before the third (if used). 4 days after the final dose do a 30-50% water change then put the carbon back in for a few days. Carbon is good for only a couple weeks in most cases. If I am not using it to remove meds I replace it with a filter pad for more biomedia.

Hmmm, I just looked it up and they make two sizes of tabs, One for tanks and one for ponds. The ones I have are for ponds. If the package?bottle say 1 per 10g you have the smaller ones and are good to go.

Whew...had me worried for a second there.
