jungle val question

i got some jungle val about 2 months ago when i got them they melted and then started getting real nice and green and now there starting to melt and get holes in the leafs. im thinking its either i need better light or root tabs so i added a light that i had on my other tank that i used fof a year or so. was wondering if it would help the val any
