Jungle vals in cichlid tank

I got some jungle val in the mail today the roots were very short anyone have ideas how to keep them in my sand till the roots grow

Maybe some larger rocks covering them

Wrap around lead plant weights, if you use enough, should keep them down until rooted.

I would just plant them and use large rocks around the base of the plants to keep them down. That will also make it harder for the cichlids to dig them up! Me personally I think it will still be a lost cause but it is worth a try. Also depends on which cichlids it is too!

I orderd some led weights but wont be here for like a week will it hurt my vals to float that long

Why buy and order led weights when you can go to the store and get bullet weights made of led for most likely cheaper worked for me not only for plants but for driftwood

Can i set rocks around the val higher than the crown for a week or so without peoblems or will that kill them

+1 Use some simple fishing weights and fishing line.
