Are these supposed to already have color to them, or are they throw aways? They were given to me.

If it has a positive on those test strips you have a lot more issues than high nitrates

They're not supposed to have any color when right out of the bottle. They should only change when exposed to water.

That's what I thought. I have the liquid equivalent test kit which reads much different ( in a good way ) than these did. The strips came with a second hand aquarium and I tried them as a second opinion, but was pretty sure they weren't accurate
