So, i have a 400w marineland heater. Bought it new back somewhere around March of 2010. Couldnt keep the temp stable in my 120, so I moved it to my 75. Temp will not go above 74. Turn it on as high as it goes and still stays at 74. I also have 2 Hydor 400w heaters, one is in my 150 and keeps the temp perfect. When I put the other in my 75, it seems no matter where I set the temp, it goes to 86! Anyone have any good suggestions for heaters? Or is there something I can do?

is the temperature in your room the tank is in stable. My tank is usually around 80, but on really hot days when I'm not home its hit 86 since I dont run my A/C when Im not home, If I overrun the A/C without ajusting my heater it has hit 72 before. Luckly no death/s or illness.

the room temp would be no higher than 74. no matter how cold the house is with the ac on, the hydor in my 150 still keeps the temp right on. and no matter how warm the house is, the marineland in the 75 never goes about 74. i guess i may look for another heater. the guy in my avatar is in the 75 and def dont wont to cook him.

The longer I have been on hear the more bad I hear about the marineland heaters. I bought them for all my tanks for the look and the more playful/aggressive fish. I had one malfunction and stay on all the time and after hearing all the complaints on hear I will try the Ebo jager, they get a lot of good feedback.

My Jager is rock solid. My best heater is my Hydor ETH inline heater though.
