Ok I probably spelled the name wrong but I think you get the picture. I got a 2.0-2.5 inch Jurenese catfish the day after Christmas and for the first week he was eating market shrimp. The last week to week and a half he hasn't been eating anything. He is around 3.0 inches now and in a 10gal quarrantine tank divided with with about 10 juvie flowerhorns. He is on the side of the powerfilter so there is lots of current and I do water changes on the tank 2-3 times a week and anywhere from 50-75%. Thank has media from my sump, which has been running for over two years and the 10gal has been running with the media for about 2 months. Should I be worried he is not eating?

Its because your doing too big a water changes, never change more than 30% and on a tank that small I would only do 10-20% once or twice a week. I dont really agree with feeders when fish do not need them but it maybe an idea to try just to get him eating.

Saying that, im sure that with reduced water changes he will now eat bloodworm and prob get back on shrimp. Good luck

Really. I've done this with almost all the fish I have had when they are in quarrantine tanks and never had this problem. When I had young gars in there I did the samething, they were always hungry about 30 mins after the water change. In my 20gal tall that I am growing out Lei Aros, 2 with a divider, I do 40-60% wate changes 2-3 times a week. I'll look at doing smaller water changes 1 or 2 twice a week.

try slightly larger worms like the redworms you get from the bait section in walmart or even cut up nightcrawlers should get him eating in just a few tries....

Thanks. He started eating a couple days ago. I don't think he likes frozen talapia, he is more found of market shrimp.
