I was thinking about getting one and can't seem to find much info on them on google. My biggest concern is max size, growth rate, and how do I wean a catfish onto pellets? (i've been successufl with pbass and dats but thats another story cus they attack the prey right away)

Max size without the streamers is somewhere between 24-30" (so I've heard). Mine is only about 4-5" yet but to get my fish on pellets I get them on something like raw shrimp pieces first as it helps with them associating non-living items as food. After they eat the shrimp well I start to introduce pellets. Or you can starve them but only with larger specimens.
I know that planet catfish has it as 23.5" but I've seen one that I'm sure was larger than that or maybe it just seems bigger remembering it. 24" is still a nice size. Not sure on growth rate but I'd guess it would be close to most other big cats.
they don't grow as fast as others cats...i have had mine for a month or 2 and it has gone from 3" to 6" no streamer in length...streamer has gone from 5" to 13"+...mine started eatting shrimp within the first week and it was eatting blood worms aswell...i wouldn't put it in with a rahp that is smaller cause they will eat a fish that is to big little by little...when mine was 4.5" it ate a 3.5" goldfish that was for my scomb, but it got it first...took it 2.5 days to finish it...
