Well I have decided to purchase a juruenese this weekend. The problem is that I have to drive 6 hours to get him from a fish store. What will be the best way to transport him back? He is 6 inches.

Wow 6 hours is a long drive. I guess local shops don't get them often. I would get a rubbermaid container and keep the water temp stable. Maybe get a battery powered air pump You could go real crazy and hook up a power inverter and run a small heater and air pump. Good luck

Yea I've been after one for awhile and decided to get this one while it's availiable. Thanks for the input I will give it a go. And by awhile I mean a month or so but just can't wait for my lfs anymore lol.

why not have them ship it? a six hour trip shouldnt cost too much for an overnight.

I'd rather drive with the fish than shipping it. Teh problem is not very many people know how to ship a fish properly.

6 hours in a bucket is nothing. Keep the temp stable, make sure they starve him for a few days prior to the day you're picking him up to reduce waste during transport.

I drove back from Chicago (16-18 hours) with a trunk full of fish. Had to stop at mid point to do water change but that was it.

actually got lucky today and had a lfs a little closer call me saying they had one availiable. One hour later and he is safe and sound in the tank. Three inches and cost $80, but well worth the money and cheaper than having to pay for the fish and travel time. thanks for all the tips fellas. Will get some pics up when I figure it out, I'm still pretty new to the forumn. You guys on here are a better source of information then any lfs I've been in. Thanks again.
