I havent seen them for sale but just saw one recently pop up. 8 incher or so for 300 which was too much for me. Used to see smaller ones around 3-4 inches for as cheap as 40 bucks but that must have been 6 years ago.
Do they still get imported or are they pretty rare at this point?

It is indeed seasonal. The season is coming up, for us in northern hemisphere it's late winter-early spring. Feb-Mar and a bit on.
