Just picked up my Brachyplatystoma juruense yesterday. its about 2 1/2 ". I paid $12.00 for it. The streamers are a little beat up. Will the streamers grow back like fins and barbels?

Sounds like a good deal to me. I just picked up one thats about 3" and paid $29 for him, and saw one about 4" at the lfs a couple weeks ago listed at $60. Cool fish though. I put a powerhead in the tank and the little guy loves to swim in the current like it was a treadmill or something. Good luck with him.
dont worry about the trailer. it will grow and than somone will bite it off, than it will grow back and than somone else will bite it off...etc...etc...
