i got called up for jury duty for at least 2 weeks in august it takes up 1 week of my holidays so i have to cancel them.
i have to do it too or i get fined.
anybody else done this if so whats it like.

yup, thats how it works here. just say things like:

"If they made it to court they're guilty"
"I can not stand to be in the same room as a <insert race> person"
"Will I get to pull the switch?"
"They arent *** are they"

You should be set free....

I got called three times when I was in uni.

Always got off by saying I had exams, assignments etc. The judges seem to be very sympathetic towards uni students, but never towards people that said they had to work, or it would affect running their business etc.

I think if you make it plain you don't want to be there, most times you will be excused before final selection as it could be that you would be prejudiced that you were forced to be there.

I agree with Rally. My wife had to go 4years ago and all she did was sit there for 3 days.

Ya.. I got to fire allot of Jurers at my Trials LOL... I could be called to do jury duty but... Ya fellons get fired from jury as fast as cops and relatives of cops LOL.. NEver want to do it myself... :)

thanks for the info but over here jurors are not selected by the looks of the info i have you just do it and get a £1000 fine if you dont turn up
