I am no artist. So try not to poke to much fun. These first four are done using Sharpie markers. The last one is in colored pencil. I think I like the colored pencils much better. I will probably redo the others in pencil also. It would be cool to have one for all my species. Just 24 or so more to go! All of these are pretty close to the pictures. I'll post the pictures underneath the renderings.

One thing that sucks about the sharpies vs the colored pencils is that the color choice is very limited. Like the L200 you drew was very well done, but the color of the marker screws it all up. If you had had room to choose a better shade of green, then we would have been looking at an awesome drawing.

Personally I think the definition of artist doesn't have to mean you do it professionally, or even at a great level of skill, but rather that everything can be art as art is more of an expression, rather than a solid thing. You have a lot of skill with the pen and pencil, and I'd love to see you do one of a blue phantom, zebra, queen arabesque, or whiptail (L10a particularly). Great work.

the dang fish look like statues!!! beautiful!!! i thought you were showing the drawing of what you later carved

Nice work! and fish keeping

Very kind words. I agree with you 100% on the sharpies. At the time that's all I had laying around. I went and bought more colored pencils, and a sketch pad last night. Funny thing is first thing in the book is a redone L200. It looks killer. The type of paper made a huge difference. I'll post it later tonight. As far as the others go I'll do those next. Except the zebra. I'll do that on aside the book just for you. Since I don't have one yet. It won't make the book.

Nope no carving. I've tried my hand at carving before. I'm not so good at it. However I have made a few things out of modeling clay. I've made gecko, snake, malawi peacock, a rose, and a ballet dancer for my wife.
