Came accross a species of fish called a horseface catfish, Horsehead Pimelodid, goeldiella eques.

An Internet search for these guys only returns info and results for the horseface loach and basic catfish for sale results.

Where can I get one and about how much should I expect to pay?? Some of the images found online are sourced from MFK but the links are dead in most cases or the post was a decade ago.

I would also like to know if it is active in the tank or a total cave dweller.

As always thanks for your time!

Thanks boldtogether! That aquabid listing is a year old though. :( I found that one myself a couple days ago and a new search on their site brings up nothing. Signed up for blue grass aquatics though and put myself on the list for an in stock update. :)

Never kept them but from what ive seen and heard, they are an active and gregarious species. Grow to around a foot. Similar in behavior and size to ornate pims. I imagine they are pretty good tankmates with larger community type cichlids. they'll definitely prey on smaller fish though especially when they get larger.

Thanks for the info! Are the horsehead cat active just at night or all the time.... And could I keep him with my American cichlids community; Who are 4 plus inch??

My fox face is only active when I turn my tank lights down or off and I have food floating around. He is very passive to anything that doesn’t fit into his mouth. He is with a green terror, bichirs, mustard pleco, and a black ghost knife fish, doesn’t bother any of them. Hope this helps even if I’m a little late.
