i saw a video on youtube but i just wanted to know if its safe for them.....
id hated to lose my gar for something stupid like feeding it a mouse

i just dont like to feed him anything else
he only likes live stuff and if that is what he whats then i say give him that
he will not take anything not alive even if he is starved for 2 weeks
and why not feed him a mouse??? i read that in the wild they catch small mammals
but your alot better at this then me....

i know alot of people feed there gars other stuff that isnt live but i just dont like to

also i attribute the fact that he can be housed with a pleco with no worrys to the fact that he is fed live foods only
he puts the pleco in its place and the pleco is scared of the gar

i'll respond to the other stuff later as i am currently pressed for time. but you should note that the live food correlation with getting along the pleco is not a good one...and it will not stop the pleco from eventually slime-sucking on the gar (which is the main issue, not gar predation on the pleco). plecos may get along for even a year before starting the slime sucking, but once they do it can very rapidly prove fatal to the gar; hence it is not advised.--
