Im bored with my south africans and i want to get 2 cons, BUT i got this real cool african for my bday and i wanna keep it. Is it possible to have the 2 cons with the african?

You'll have to run a PH thats a bit of a compromize for both species and of course they both like differant types of decor but it's possible to keep them both in the same tank...at least until the cons breed the poor african out of existance..LOL

i dont think youll have to worry about ph i work at a pet store and all the tanks are on one system, africas, south american and tropicals and gold fish all using same water. unless its wild caught. but if not it doesnt matter because of all the years of the fish being breading in captivity they are used to all different types of water.

if you don't get a breeding pair of cons, you should be fine

What kind of african is it? Some would not fare well with cons, however others may be in complete bliss with them. Post a pic for I.D

:iagree:

There are hundreds of species of african cichlids with varying personalities. The fish needs to be identified first.
