Just a Quick Question about Prime.

Hi all! I do 15 gallon water changes weekly with a 5 gallon home depot bucket.

I have a bottle of not-used prime which i want to open.

HOw much do i use?

DIRECTIONSl USE 1 CAPFUL (5ml) FOR EACH 200 L (50 GALLONS) OF NEW WATER. FOR SMALLER DOSES, PLEASE NOTE THAT EACH CAP THREAD IS APPROX. 1 ML).

Each cap thread?!?

I want to know how much i should add into a 5 gallon bucket please :)

Have a look at this link and go to post #8. It is what I use to dose out my dechlorinator. It is marked in mL and makes small dosing easy. It is a turkey flavor injector with the tip ground off. For my small tanks I use a 5 gallon water canister used for camping.
 
Thats a neat idea, the syringe.
How can you tell how much you need to squeeze out?

Go to any pharmacy and ask for a syringe (no needle), they are less than a dollar, usually lots of different sizes. I got a bunch of 5 ml ones to use with test kits and for dosing dechlor in my smaller tank. I also got a 1 ml one for spot feeding some fry.
 
I always overdose.
I'm too lazy to measure exactly.

If i do a water change, i just add 1/4-1/2 a cap per bucket of new water.
I just pour it in while the bucket is filling up.

If I accidentaly put a whole capful in at once. It doesnt matter.

(i use Prime too)

thats why you tell them you dont want the needle just the syringe!!:)
