just a quick question on moon lights

with moon lights are they meant for night time viewing ? should you still shut your lights off and leave the tank completely dark ?
 
moonlights are meant to watch your tank at night when ur normal lights are off. Moonlights are supposed to provide minimal light that will allow you to see but at the same time won't bother your fish.
 
i agree... i have the little l.e.d moonlight's and there on a timer so they get 10 hours with the moonlight's on
 
I turn on the moon-leds when I am home past the normal daylight hours, but I do turn them off for a completly DARK rest period of 8-10 hours.
 
The moon itself doesn't shut itself off and that's what moonlights are trying to emulate so mine stays on all night.

I have all my lights on timers, main lights at 10 until 10, then moonlights from 10 to 1.
 
thanks for the replies i was a little unclear on what do but Mike Dunagan gave me a really good schedual ill use ill post some pics of my diy light strip later on today it realy came out good thanks every one
