Could a couple black cons and an Oscar get along together in a large enough tank?
I will hopefully be getting a 75 gal pretty soon and want to add them to my O's tank.
My O is about 9" long and my cons are about 5" long.
Any advice will be helpful. Thanks

possibly you'd just have to try it. But I really wouldn't call that a larger tank. Most people consider a 75 or 100 the minimum for a single O. Just depends on his aggression level though. I'd throw em in there and if he doesn't like ém take them out.

Yeah, My Lutino O is really mild compared to my red. I will just have to try it and see.
Thanks

i kept a few 4" cons on my O's tank for a few weeks, they are about 9-10 " each, no problems arised, hopefully you will have the same luck

I put them in the O's tank a couple of hours ago and they seemed interested in each other but nothing further. My O is hiding, she is such a coward. I think they will be just fine. Now that leaves me with an empty 30 gallon tank. Oh, what to do???????????

I wouldn't. Your O has already reached maturity and has claimed the tank as his territory and won't take kindly to any newcomers. Then comes the bioload issues. You'll have to do lots of water changes to keep your Nitrates below 20 ppm.

The bioload will be fine. I do waterchanges once a week and now all I have to do is do twice a week. No problem. My O really isn't ill tempered. I know everyone keeps on saying that they are really aggressive. My Lutino Red isn't.
We will see how it goes.
With the weekly water changes my nitrates only read 5 ppm before I do the change so I don't think it would hurt. Thanks for the opinions.

oscars arent agressive, they're territorial. If he feels that the cons are in his territory, say bye bye to the cons. It's certainly possible though.
