Ok so I have been thinking about geting a rhom. And I was thinking if a 75 gal tank is big enoph for an. Oscar wich reech a good size wuld it also be sutible for a rhom again this is just a thery. If you have any input post it just try to keep the. Your an idiot remarks to a minimum.

I don't think that's an idiot question more like a good one. Although the volume of water would more than likely be sufficent to raise a Rhom the footprint wouldn't be.
As Rhoms get older they become much more powerful swimmers and would appreciate 6-8 ft in length so as to not blast the glass w/ their noses. If I'm not mistaken Rhoms get taller than Oscars, almost as tall as they are long. The Oscars build is more streamline and also much more arrticulate, they can turn around alot easier in tighter spaces than Piranha can. I wouldn't recommend either fish in 75gal. as adults but it's a good growout tank for both.

if you start with a small rhom then 75g will be more than enough. rhombeus is ambush predator and normally it's not where near as active as an oscar and takes ages for them to out grow 75g, you are looking at at least few years. probably 4-5 years or even more for a rhom to reach 12" and the growth will most likely stop there for a captive kept rhom. I haven't heard of any one grow out a baby rhom bigger than 12" yet.

I'm planning on progessively working my rhom up to a 75 gallon. Right now it'd just get lost in a bigger tank.

I started my rhom in a 75, they are extremely slow growers so a 75 will do for Id say four to five years, but will definitely need a larger tank at some point.

my rhom is looking like he needs a bigger tank (125) but the smaller one i got at 4 inches is doing great in a 60 gallon. you will be good for years if you start small.
god i love the rhombeus

Wow, you're alive. Got any recent pics of your beasts?

Thanks guys I may have more therys later on this just poped into my head so I posted it hoping to get some feedback. So I think we have confermed that a rhom can be housed hapily in a 75 gal tank for let us say 4 1/2 years do to growth rate. Now what kind of rhom to get I love he look of blacks but also love the look of the gold diamond I can also get a gold small and cheap. And wile I'm askng what other possible pirhana can be kept in a 75 for a while already own rbp so don't mention them.

yea Tony, welcome back~!!
how big is the blue diamond now? i think a wider tank (180g) would be better if your rhom is active enough to use the entire 6ft length.
