There is some extra room in the backard for a pond in the 12ft long and 9ft wide range. But this will be hand dug so i would keep it smaller, around 8ft long and 6 ft wide range. My questions are. How expensive exactly for the liner, pump and filter? Im debating over Bluegill, LMB and Albino Channel Catfish. It will be 8ft long 6ft wide and 4-5ft deep max and 1-2 in the shallow area. This pond will be around 1400 to 1800 gallons depending on the max depth.

do you plan on doing a water fall or anything fancy or just the basics?

I bought my 15x15 firestone liner off of ebay for $75 shipped.
I got a 2200 gal pump for my waterfall/filter for $80 shipped on ebay.
I made my flower pot filter with hose for about $35.
Plastic pond 35 gallon for my waterfall/filter $40
So total for me was $230....not too shabby :headbang2

Lots of deals on craigslist as well.

shelbyzman how many gallons is that pond?
im going to go pretty basic, maybe a waterfall. I'd love to do a small "stream" but that wont happen

my pond is around 1000 gallons
32" deep end (around waterfall)
20" shallow

do you have problems with raccoons eating your fish? I'm heading towards getting bluegill and letting them breed so i can sell or eat them. That or getting LMB or Channel Cats and raising a true MONSTER

I see you've thoroughly thought through this trough, though.

dont hate on the spelling error. It was late at night and i just moved 30 wheel barrows full of topsoil down/up a hill and i was about to go to sleep hahaha
