big, nasty, and solo? Well that leaves two options:

1. A huge rhom. Would have to buy it at 14"+ from the wild, because you can't grow one that big in captivity. THey usually run around $600.00 in my area.

2. A S. Manuelli. The piranha collectors piranha. Huge, gorgeous, and viscious. They're extremely susceptible to stress, and they have a bad habit of dying before they reach monster status when raised in captivity. The people who have had success with these guys keep them alone in 180g+ tanks, in areas where they aren't exposed to a lot of stress (foot traffic and whatnot)

Here's some media:

I am going to go out of the piranha topic for a moment:_

If you want some mean nasty bloody bastard you can also have a Wolf fish, they are nicknamed "piranha eaters"!!!! to give you an idea of what are we talking about.

Now, if you want to have a piranha I wouldnt consider about a manueli because ther are fragile, i mean they can die on you relatively easy.

I would take a black rhom or a S. elongatus, although I personaly would like a cariba shoal....

Cheers.

Elongatus are cool piranha

ok guys all good ideas, i had a shoal of reds not long ago and got bored with them as they were too skiddish.

so i wanted 1 that wasnt skiddish and wouldnt be shy to come see me when i approach the tank, it will more than likely be going in a 6x2x2 tank all by itself in a fish room i am planning so the only traffic will prob be me.

I have heard of the wolf fish and yeah it is another great idea as they are very nasty to keep and look at, can you get them in the UK? if so that might end up being my choice.

Thanks guys

ok ive decided to go for a wolf fish, ive read they can live in a 4' tank quite easily and they arent that hard to keep as long as they are alone, i will hopefully have pics for you lot in a few weeks or so.

which section would a wolf fish be under in the forum..... ancient fish or snakeheads?
