because I do love them. I've been doing a lot of thinking as you all know about getting other bichirs, but the fact is, I really love my pair of senegals. I love how I saved one from starvation @ PetsMart and the other from adult senegals at the LFS. How I got them as two inch scrawny little prunes and grew them into beautiful fish. And their personalities. I love watching them hunt, and learn and refine their hunting skills. I like to watch when there is only one feeder fish left in the tank, and they pair up and hunt together to catch it. I think I'm going to adopt some more babies and stick with senegals and ornates for the new tank. My kids need brothers n sisters :)

Anybody else have anything to add?? :D

i think if your going to add any more might wanna upgrade...first would love to see some pics of your bichirs..

They're still pretty small compared to everyone elses fish... only 6 and 7 inches. Got awhile before its upgrade time... maybe a year or so. After our lease is up at this place, I'm pullin for a condo so we can be on ground floor and can get somethin huge for them.

:clap A true fish hobbiest as well as a fish lover. I too love my fish and consider them my family. I think bircher's are some of the most beautiful fish. I'm glad someone looked out for them and rescued them. I am sure they will reward you with many years of enjoyment! Cheers!!!

I just realized... I typoed the heck outta the title... :)

trully a unique and interesting fish. an armorplated airbreathing snake like fish as old as the dinosaurs. communicate with grunts and come in many sizes styles and paint jobs. might just be my favorite fish.

''as old as the dinosaurs'' older than what we consider ''dinosaurs'' Fussy ain't I ?lol

ha

i saved my ornate at 2 inches from the lfs that thought it was a peackock eel............ or they did until i asked how much it was. hes about 6 inches now and provides endless entertainment, i love how him and my L-200 interact, squeezing into the same clay cave and competeing over the frozen bloodworms (ya my plecs psyco , hates all vegetable matter but loooovvvvveeeesssss worms:confused: ) and then how he comes to the glass when i show up and swims slowly closer till his little nose bumps. (i think he just wants to bite me on the face tho......;) ). what else can you put in a tank that is more undemanding, intresting, and just off the charts on the cool factor.

oh i know..... MORE BICHIRS!!! (or one of those cool freshwater dolphin things)
