I was in the river all day yesterday fishing. There were small schools of baby fish all around me. As I watched them I saw a bunch of them flashing or rubbing however it is known to you. Anyone have any explanation for this? I know we generally see this as a sign of poor water quality. I noticed this behavior two days in a row in two totally different locations. They were about 15 miles apart from each other.

I see fish do that all the time in the wild. I believe it's when they try to rub off a parasite that is attaching itself to the fish, which is common in nature.
