Very much south..
to my turtle collection:

- M+ F Platisternon Megacephalum;
- 1 Hidromedusa Tectifera, a deadly hunter that hunts like the matamatas, using vacuum suction.
- M+F Prinops Williams ( australian );
-M+F Elseya Novaguineae ( will join my Elseya Latisternon ) ( all are New Guinea snappers )

- 1 Common Snapper ( of a "subspecies" from northern Texas "people are inventing " - let's see what gives...

- M+ F Huge Osceola Snappers....

:):):):)

will try tonight....

:OMG: Miguel, you're the man! I can't wait to see some pics. Are you considering breeding your turtles? I would love to get a Chinese Big-headed turtle!

I haven't heard of a U.S. subspecies of C. serpentina other than C.s. osceola. I'd be interested to see what you've got there...IMO, snappers make some of the best pet reptiles. Not touchy-feely of course, but very interesting and semi-personable.

pics!

Here go the pix...must be the worst pix i ever took, with a camera of my kids which i do not cope well, with....

Ok, lets try...( only the non snapper, first )

Pix do not do them justice, believe me....

Interesting turtles Miguel, Do you have others?

and here come my new snappers.:)

First shown is the so called Texas Subspecies ( I am not inventing and will receive, so I am told, detailed explanation..the snappers specialists are, so I hear, starting to define two new Chelidra subspecies ( Serpentina Serpentina ( aka common ); Osceola ( Florida ); Rossignoni ( Mexico ); Acutirostris ( Equador , Peru ):

Now this would be , I understand , a Texan Sub-sub species ( the details lie in the lighter colour and also in the number of scales in the after part of the carapace (??) ..As said, will receive what they consider to be evidence...
